Re: I think she's PG?
She's a fatty yes. How long do you have her? Did she moult when you had her? She's adult now because of the red telson and vesicle.
Chances are actually very very good she is gravid. Almost all WCs are (provided they were already adult when caught).
If she is gravid and she drops her babies dont expect her to live very long after though. At least you'll have lots of youngsters

Re: I think she's PG?
Yeah she's wc! I got her from a pet store about a month ago. She's hasn't molted since I've had her. I was hoping I get a couple of years out of her, but if not maybe I'll get some of her offspring. The store owner thought hes was gravid and he seems to know his stuff. His imps are very good looking. I got one from him a few months ago and she was huge, much bigger than this one. which made me think, that this one was younger, but still adult. The other one got away from me while I was cleaning it's tank. I really hated that! Never found her again!

Re: I think she's PG?
These guys can have a gestation time for more than 15 months. There is no way of telling when she could pop. Does she look for heat?
I remember that. It most certainly died because of the dry environment, certainly around your area!
Her back area is bulging indeed. Might not be long anymore, if she is indeed gravid and not just a pigfeeder
The shape looks weird to be from eating too much alone though.

I'm gonna watch your thread here....Scorpinox is starting to resemble that shape as well, although not that pronounced................
(Didn't I used to have a thread here somewhere before about this? Is that one of the ones deleted?)

She definitely looks for the heat. I know they say not to use a heating pad, but this tank already had one on it, so I've got about 4-5 in of substrate and she really dig's down.Administrator EWL wrote:These guys can have a gestation time for more than 15 months. She looks gravid to me. The average gestation period is around 9 months. Sometimes it's longer, sometimes it's shorter. As Sam said they can (rarely) have a gestation period of over a year.

I can see it now on my home computer. All I was seeing on my work computer was white in the white...............how do I change the text color in the thread? Is that a global fix or what? LOL.
Not hijacking the thread. Just curious.

You have to change the color when you are posting. Highlight the text in the quote (only the text, not the quote symbols) then click the color symbol (it's 6 spaces away from the symbol you use to upload images) and pick your favorite. I can barely see the normal color myself. I'll PM Sam about it.

I'd say your going to have baby scorpions soon.
Re: I think she's PG?
Congrats Mr T. How is she doing?
edit: I'll try to change quote colors so you dont have to change them yourself to make them visible.

Here she is Ms. America!

Not a real good shot of underneath, but it's not transparent it looks brown. What does that tell us if it's transparent?

Re: I think she's PG?
All tergites are colored if that is the part you mean looking brown.
You can only see embryo through the pleural membrane (the grey flexible part). Even so, I dont know if Pandinus species have a 'view through" skin. I know Androctonus have, no idea on GFS and Pandinus.
To me, she looks overly well fed or indeed very gravid.
